North Hants Golf Club are proud to have been chosen to host Regional Open Qualifying between 2023 and 2027 having previously hosted the event in the early nineties. Regional Open Qualifying is the first of two stages for golfers to play for the honour of qualifying for The Open which this year is being played at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) . The fact that other clubs in and around Hampshire & Surrey were vying to host regional qualfying is a mark of the progress made at the North Hants over the last decade.
As with the Hampshire Hog and Rose, it would only be possible to deliver the event with the help of an army of member volunteers. We will require north of 80 volunteers on the day to cover duties ranging from scoring, recording, ball spotting, practice area and car park attendant.
At this stage, we are asking those members who are happy to help in some way to submit their details via the form below and indicate availability for AM (from 6am), PM or ALL DAY (until 6pm) on both Monday, 26th June and Tuesday, 27th June. Tuesday is a reserve day and will only be used in the unlikely event that Monday is abandoned. Hopefully this will not be the case and the day will be released back to members.
We also require 10 volunteers to do some ball spotting (flag waving) on Sunday 25th June between 11am and 4pm. Please sgn up below.
Those volunteering can access the R&A Volunteer Training Video HERE and the Volunteer Handbook HERE. All volunteers should watch the video prior to the big day.
V olunteers must be 16 years of age or over and will need to sign a waver which will be sent to you prior to the big day.
The R&A will host a welcome reception on Sunday 25 June from approximately 6.00pm to 7.30pm. All the North Hants officials involved in the running of the RQ including volunteers will be invited to this function as a thank you from The R&A. An open bar will be available with wine and soft drinks circulated and a selection of finger food and canapés also available.
